It is a common scene to see stray dogs being fed and kept by squatter dwellers in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor.
In one of the recent investigations by two animal lovers at the site of Sungai Besi, two young stray dogs were seen being kept in unhealthy environment without proper food and clean drinking water. The brown male dog was emaciated. Two Animal Lovers managed to approach the Chinese family whom was willing to receive animal welfare education as regard to the upkeep of the two stray dogs.
Furry Friends Farm was being informed and a visitation was carried out on the 15th November 2009. The main purpose was to bring the two dogs for medical check up, vaccination, deworming, heart-worm checked and neutered.
The black female dog, named Winnie will be returned to the squatter home with a condition that an area to be fenced up for the dog to move about freely.
The family is willing to surrender the male dog due to financial constraint and they have agreed to contact Furry Friends Farm when they have to be evacuated from the present place and to be relocated in a flat later.
Animal Lovers have played a very important role in this episode . They identified the dogs and the place, made friendly conversations to the dogs' Guardian and contacted Furry Friends Farm to assist in accepting the animals should the family has decided to give the dogs away. The two Animal Lovers have agreed to sponsor all the dogs medical bills and to support the dog surrendered to Furry Friends Farm.
We are very glad to have the opportunity to work with dedicated Animal Lovers to provide Animal Welfare Education to the dogs' Guardians in this squatter area and have successfully taken care of the welfare of these two dogs.
